How to grow ,care and propagation of jade(crassula ovata) plant ?

                           Jade plant scientific name is crassula ovata , this plant belongs to crassulaceae family , crassula ovata is a succulent plant so this is ability to thrive on limited water sources . Crassula ovata store water and survive long dry periods.This plant commonly known as jade plant, friendship tree, lucky plant, or money plant .Jade plant grown in indoor places such as residences and offices .

                            jade plants commonly grown for decorative purposes , positive psychological purposes , keeping fresh and health reasons such as
indoor air purification. Jade plant retains green leaves with thick branches and leaves grow opposing pairs along the branches .If this money plant exposed to sunlight , leaves edges develop slightly red color .

Care for jade plant :

  1.  Watering : jade plant is a succulent plant so these type of plants are water preserving , this plant not required excess amount of water , it can be survive with a little water .If water is exceed the limit plant will died .over watering harmed to this plant.
  2. Light and temperature : Green color of the plant is disappeared and turn into yellow when grown with bright sun light .Jade plant require moderate light and temperature.
  3. Soil : This plant grow in a pot and need to potting soil , jade plant also grow in rich, well-draining soil .
  4. Controlling insects : Generally Mealybugs insects attacks jade plant and they feed on plant juices and also acts as vector for plant diseases.Insecticidal soap killing mealybugs , this insecticidal soap available in Amazon  .

Propagation of jade plant:

                         Jade plant propagation is very easy which can be cutting branches and leaves , reproduction is the best method for propagation of jade plant .Jade plant branches regularly fall off and these branches may root and form new plants .
                         Generally injured leaves are left to dry and uncaring over .Then the leaves are placed in or on soil , roots begin to grow on cutting leaves about four weeks after being removed from the stem.Development of root and new jade plant dependent on suitable temperature and humidity .This plant requires low temperature as well as low humidity .Leaves usually appears soon after new roots have formed.

Similarities of jade plant and bonsai : 

                           Bonsai is a japanese art form using tray like pot for growing miniature trees .
                            Jade plant also grown in a pot.
